In five years as Director of Communications for a national financial services trade association, I have written a wealth of materials, including op-eds, newsletter articles, executive profiles, educational brochures, talking points, fact sheets, annual reports, conference wrap-ups, speeches, event scripting, news releases, and summary emails to members on industry and association developments.
I have more than seven years of experience as a trade association communications executive, writing and developing messaging geared toward association members, members of Congress, the general public, and the media. I am very well versed in financial services issues, financial literacy, and communication with association members and boards.
I have always been a writer, penning my first article for the Christian Science Monitor during college. Later, I simplified history for a young audience, writing more than 100 Kids Corner articles for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette while working at the Senator John Heinz History Center. I also crafted news releases, talking points and other materials at the History Center.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication & Media Studies from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s degree in Corporate Communication from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
